The reality TV show All American Muslim aired on TLC in the US to a record 1.7 million viewers

“All American Muslim” is America’s answer to  “Little Mosque on the Prairie”, a Canadian CBC TV series, its premiere drawing an audience of 2.1 million.

The US reality TV show aired on TLC has attracted a record 1.7 million viewers, as well as its fair share of controversy. It has been criticized for a purported one-sided portrayal of Muslims and  became the target of a boycott campaign. The FFA, a conservative evangelical group, said the show depicts the families living like most other families in the country, and “ is attempting to manipulate Americans into ignoring the threat of jihad.” Or, as Jon Stewart put it on his “Daily Show,” the FFA seems to be upset that “All-American Muslim” challenges their “belief system” by not perpetuating the stereotypes of Muslims FFA holds.
